Therapy & Counseling

Mental Health Management Group offers outpatient therapy and counseling services provided by licensed psychologists, therapists, and counselors. Services are designed to support individuals in exploring emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal concerns within a structured and confidential clinical setting.

Therapy may be recommended as part of a broader care plan or pursued independently, depending on individual needs and clinical assessment.

Individualized Therapeutic Support

Therapy is a collaborative process that allows individuals to discuss concerns, identify patterns, and develop practical strategies for managing challenges. Treatment approaches may vary depending on the clinician’s training, the nature of the concerns presented, and the goals identified during initial sessions.

Some individuals participate in one-on-one counseling, while others may benefit from family or couples counseling when appropriate. Recommendations are made based on professional judgment and patient preference.

What to Expect in Therapy

Initial sessions typically involve gathering relevant history, discussing current concerns, and clarifying goals for treatment. Over time, therapy may focus on understanding emotional responses, improving coping strategies, strengthening communication skills, or addressing specific stressors.

Progress in therapy varies between individuals and depends on many factors, including engagement, consistency, and the nature of the concerns being addressed.

Licensed and Qualified Professionals

All therapy services are provided by licensed mental health professionals who meet state regulatory requirements. Clinicians maintain professional standards of care and adhere to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.

Therapists manage their own appointment schedules. Individuals seeking therapy may contact clinicians directly to inquire about availability and introduce themselves.

FAQs

Finding a good therapeutic match is an important part of the process. Individuals may consider a clinician’s licensure, areas of experience, and comfort level during initial conversations. Professional credentials and competence in the area of concern are important factors, along with personal rapport and communication style.

During an initial session, the therapist typically asks about current concerns, relevant personal and family history, and goals for treatment. This information helps guide future sessions and determine an appropriate therapeutic approach.

Therapy outcomes vary from person to person. Many individuals find that consistent participation in therapy helps them better understand their experiences and develop coping strategies. The effectiveness of therapy depends on multiple factors, including the nature of the concern, therapeutic fit, and level of engagement.

Some individuals may also explore other clinical services, such as psychiatric evaluation or medication management, when recommended by a licensed provider. In certain cases, neuromodulation services such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) may be discussed following a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation when clinically appropriate.

For information about advanced clinical services, individuals should consult directly with a licensed healthcare professional to determine suitability.

In this appointment, they establish your motivations, a bit of your history, your family’s mental health history, how you see yourself, and the problems you are dealing with and will start to formulate a treatment plan.

TMS Alternative Therapy

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses a targeted pulsed magnetic field, similar to an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine. NeuroStar TMS Therapy stimulates areas of the brain that are underactive in depression. TMS is performed under supervision while the patient remains awake and alert. Patients do not require sedation and return to their daily routine immediately after each 19-minute treatment.TMS of Central Florida is located within the Mental Health Management Group’s Brandon, FL office building and is a partnership between Dr. Charles DeVine, M.D., and Dr. Troy Noonan, M.D. To find out if this treatment is right for you, contact TMS of Central Florida.
